I thought about doing a year end recap; I even wen I thought about doing a year end recap; I even went as far as making a folder full of highlights. But the truth is, my career highs (namely, a year long partnership with @homegoods!) were eclipsed by an all time low (getting dropped from my agency of over a decade), I didn’t go anywhere or do much, and when I look back on my year vs so many of my peers, it’s quite a lackluster highlight reel. Just a bunch of self portraits, really.

My heart was broken this year, but as difficult as it was at times, it wasn’t a bad year. 2021 was the year of Boo. I spent every waking minute making sure we gave him the best quality of life possible, soaking up every bit of time we had left, feeling grateful for every snuggle, every little meow. It was also the year I finally accepted that I needed medication, finally acknowledged that therapy alone was no longer enough. And truthfully, I wish I would have done it years ago. I was already struggling and when Boo was diagnosed with terminal cancer, I all but lost myself. I knew I couldn’t be like that if I wanted to be the best caretaker for Boo, and my grandma coaxed me into talking with my doctor about my options. I’m so glad I did. It helped me to stay present, and manage my emotions in a healthier way.

I used to feel like I was wading through thick emotions at all times, often drowning in them when events became too much for me to handle. I was worried medication would turn me into a zombie, or that I wouldn’t feel in control, but it hasn’t been that way at all. It’s been a literal lifesaver, and it gave me the best possible days during the most difficult times. And I can tell you right now, as I type this through tears, that it made me anything but a zombie.

Here’s to the year of Boo. He gave me so many gifts, joyful memories, and the absolute cutest little moments — and he also helped me take care of my mental health. The best good Boo.

Happy new year, everyone. See you in 2022.

I can’t believe it’s been almost an entire yea I can’t believe it’s been almost an entire year since we moved into our house. There is still SO much to do, but I have to keep reminding myself how much we have done in such a short time. Once the holidays are over, I’ll show you some more of our progress (and lots of befores). We’ve finally gotten some of our pieces that have been back ordered, so things are starting to come together! #christmaskeik

I just made this digital Christmas card in minutes I just made this digital Christmas card in minutes, using Adobe @creativecloudexpress! It launched today and this was my very first project. I am not a designer, but my job often requires me to make visually appealing templates and marketing content — and this brand new app from Adobe makes it easier than ever. There are thousands of customizable templates, fonts, and design assets to choose from, or you can make your own design from scratch.

My FAVORITE feature is the brand manager where I was able to store my logo, branding colors, and fonts for easy reference. I also love that it organizes everything into layers for non-destructive editing, and that you can remove backgrounds in one click.

I screen recorded the process in my stories, so you can see how easy it is to use, and highlighted some additional features. Watch my stories for more and download Adobe @creativecloudexpress on mobile or desktop! #CreativeCloudExpress #ExpressIt #AdobePartner
