One dress, two ways

I bought this Sister Jane dress from Shopbop last year, during one of their amazing sales. Funnily enough, though I almost didn’t put this in my shopping cart, it ended up being my favorite piece from the order (second place: my Sleeper).

I have a habit of gravitating toward statement dresses. It can be a little trickier to style every which way compared to something a little more basic. However, they are just so much fun. Plus, you know me: I love a one and done outfit — and a dress always fits that bill. But despite the statement this metallic, poofy, floral dress makes, I’ve found lots of ways to make it feel a teeny bit different each time. I wear it alone with sandals for a simple look. One can also pair it with sneakers and a denim jacket. Sometimes, I wear it over a collared shirt like above. If I want to be ultra girly, I wear it with socks and sandals and daisy chain bows like below. Sometimes, just changing up the accessories or a hairstyle is enough to make an outfit feel brand new. Other times, it’s fun to go a little over the top and live your maximalist life.
